The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is hiring a Counselor for EOPS at Fresno City College.

The role focuses on equitable student support, personal, career, and educational counseling in a diverse, college-wide setting. Reporting to the Director of Student Success Programs, EOPS/CARE and NextUP, you will provide counseling services, develop student education plans, assist with course selection, and participate in matriculation activities to close equity gaps.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling or related field.
• Two years of occupational experience with ethnic minorities or disadvantaged groups.
• Valid California Community College Credential or equivalent.
• Demonstrated equity-minded practice in counseling or related work.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive counseling services, including personal, career and educational counseling.
• Assist students in major selection, developing SEPs, and facilitating career exploration and transfer activities.
• Counsel students on certificate, vocational, associate degree, and transfer programs.
• Meet the special counseling needs of underrepresented student populations.
• Interpret career assessment results and advise for appropriate course scheduling.
• Participate in enrollment, retention, and transfer of EOPS students.
