Job summary

Fresno City College invites applications for a Communication Arts Instructor (Full-Time, Tenure-Track) on campus in Fresno. The successful candidate will lead with equity-minded practices, serve a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population, and collaborate across departments to close equity gaps.

Essential duties include teaching Communication Arts courses (notably public speaking), employing technology in instruction, and participating in college and district committees.

Qualifications

• Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of diverse backgrounds and equity-minded practices.
• Master’s degree in related fields or equivalent education/experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field with Master’s in a specified area or credential requirements.
• Valid California Community College Credential or equivalency petition process.

Responsibilities

• Teach a full range of Communication Arts classes with primary focus on public speaking and related courses.
• Communicate effectively with students and staff.
• Use technology solutions in the classroom.
• Participate in professional meetings and workshops.
• Participate in department, college, and district committees as needed.
• Engage in program review, student learning outcome development and assessment.
• Teach in various instructional settings including evenings, weekends, online or off-campus.
• Fulfill all duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
