Job summary

JFK Elementary School in Canton, Massachusetts seeks a 0.6 Team Chair to advance equity and belonging, supporting academic and personal success for all students in K–5.

The Team Chair reports to the Director of Student Services and the principal, leading the special education referral and evaluation process, chairs team meetings, and oversees IEP implementation with the school’s leadership team.

Qualifications

• MA certification in special education, school psychology, or administration.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the special education referral process including Child Find and MTSS interventions.
• Coordinate team evaluation processes ensuring thorough assessments in all areas of suspected disability.
• Schedule and chair special education team meetings; determine eligibility and develop IEPs with parents and school teams.
• Supervise IEP implementation, monitor progress, annual reviews, and transitions; document rejected IEPs and notify appropriate parties.
• Assist in supervising Educational Assistants and facilitate professional development sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support high-quality special education services.
