Job summary

Bike Bus PDX seeks a Coordinator to support its East Portland bike bus programs by collaborating with families, school staff and community partners. You will plan, implement and evaluate bike buses, recruit volunteers, and design safe routes for students.

The role requires strong organization, bilingual communication (English/Spanish) and a proactive, equity-focused approach to engage historically underserved communities while coordinating with teachers and PE staff on bike education and events.

Qualifications

• Equity-centered program coordination experience preferred.
• Experience in Safe Routes to School or active transportation is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus and welcome.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with families, school staff, districts and community organizations to plan, implement and evaluate bike buses.
• Recruit and train Bike Bus Champions and volunteers at each school.
• Develop culturally-responsive student engagement programming.
• Design and ride each bike bus route regularly and address safety concerns with city/state stakeholders.
• Create and deliver outreach materials for schools and families.
