Job summary

City of Portland, Oregon, is seeking a detail-oriented professional to coordinate Safe Routes to School circulation strategies and engage school districts, internal partners, and community stakeholders. You will help refine the priority network, evaluate potential projects, and push forward standardized safety approaches across school areas.

The role supports collaboration across PBOT’s Mobility and Safety Programs and requires in-person reporting and school site visits from the Portland

Qualifications

• Experience planning and/or designing multimodal infrastructure projects.
• Experience applying effective project management including organising, directing, motivating, and engaging stakeholders.
• Experience coordinating and communicating with diverse groups of stakeholders for program implementation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Safe Routes to School circulation strategy by aligning infrastructure, policies, and safety treatments.
• Engage school districts, internal partners, and school community stakeholders for site observations and infrastructure installations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to refine the Safe Routes to School priority network and evaluate projects.
• Advance standardized approaches to school area safety including mapping and inventory maintenance.
