Job summary

Wellness Pet Company is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead all accounting and financial reporting for a PE-backed consumer products business. You will own close processes, GAAP compliance, and internal controls while partnering with the CFO and PE sponsors to drive value creation.

You’ll oversee inventory and cost accounting, ERP (IFS), and external reporting, partner with supply chain, and prepare materials for lenders and auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required with CPA preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience including leadership roles.
• Experience in consumer products, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
• PE-backed, high-growth, or highly leveraged organizations experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and audit management.
• Experience supporting M&A integrations and exit preparation.
• Exposure to lender reporting, covenant compliance, and debt structures.
• Public accounting background (Big 4 or national firm) highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and financial reporting for a PE-backed consumer products company.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with speed, accuracy, and transparency.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reporting for executives and PE sponsors.
• Ensure GAAP compliance across revenue, inventory, reserves, and equity/bonus accounting.
• Drive EBITDA quality initiatives and manage add-back items.
• Oversee cost and inventory valuation, variance analysis, and margin drivers.
• Partner with Supply Chain to improve gross margin accuracy and working capital efficiency.
• Lead audit readiness and liaise with external auditors, lenders, and tax advisors.
