Job summary

RCF Connects in Richmond, California seeks a Policy, Advocacy & Community Engagement Manager to lead Ensuring Opportunity’s policy work. You will guide strategy with senior leadership, coordinate housing and community initiatives, and organize inclusive town halls and coalitions.

Qualifications

• At least three years of experience in one or more Ensuring Opportunity policy areas (housing affordability, health access, food security, education, community safety, budget justice, immigrant protections).
• Commitment to economic and racial equity for Contra Costa residents.
• Experience working with diverse communities and building cross-sector partnerships.
• Ability to work in coalitions and influence policy through systemic change.
• Strong written and spoken communication, meeting planning, and facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide thought leadership and partnership to senior leadership and stakeholders in formulating goals, priorities and strategic approaches.
• Link policy issues across sectors and coalitions Ensuring Opportunity participates in.
• Coordinate housing strategies including the Contra Costa Housing Summit and countywide housing needs assessment.
• Organize town halls and community engagement events, in partnership with coalitions or partners.
• Lead or participate in local, county and regional coalitions advocating for policy changes across key areas.
• Support resident engagement and leadership among service consumers and community advocates.
• Maintain relationships with allies, system leaders, policymakers, residents and stakeholders.
• Prepare regular updates to Leadership Team, staff, and external partners.
