Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking an Elementary Humanities Manager to drive equitable and linguistically responsive instruction across the district. You will lead curriculum systems, professional learning, and district assessments while building capacity in district specialists to support schools.

You will guide implementation of the district vision, collaborate with Schools Team and departments, and ensure high-quality materials, coaching, and data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Four years of teaching experience with three years coaching teachers.
  • Experience in urban districts with Multilingual Learners and leading Spanish Literacy.
  • 2+ years of management responsibility.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices aligned to the science of reading.
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and dismantling inequity.
  • Must live in Colorado while employed.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboratively creates and implements the vision and strategic plan for the Humanities team.
  • Develops district specialists to provide exemplary customer service, school support, and professional learning.
  • Analyze student achievement data to improve materials and provide teacher and school supports.
  • Implements the district assessment strategy and provides PL on assessments.
  • Builds a strong team culture aligned with district values.
  • Develops partnerships to deploy Humanities instructional specialists effectively.
  • Informs Humanities Director of progress on work streams and issues.
  • Assists in preparing reports and documents for distribution to leadership and community.
