Job summary

Western States Equipment in Idaho seeks a yard technician for the Cat Rental Store. You will receive, inspect, and clean equipment, and prepare items for rental while keeping the yard neat and organized.

You will log fuel, support in shipping/receiving parts, and assist customers in the yard. Strong English communication, a valid license, and safety-first mindset are essential, with overtime and physical duties involved.

Qualifications

• Proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Associates degree or certificate from an accredited vocational school preferred.
• Previous industry experience preferred.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Excellent driving record and valid driver’s license with the ability to pass CDL requirements.
• Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).

Responsibilities

• Inspects machines and attachments on return for damage and records fuel levels within 24 hours of return.
• Completes operational inspection of returned rental machines within 24 hours of return.
• Assists in coordinating shipping and receiving parts and equipment to other stores.
• Maintain yard cleanliness and organization; engage with customers in the yard.
• Provide PPE to customers and walk them through the machine features.
• Ensure safety policies are followed and promote safety.
• May participate in training and support strategic programs.
