Job summary

James River Equipment Virginia LLC in Manassas, VA is seeking an Equipment Yard Associate to join our dedicated team. You will load, unload, and move equipment, maintain neat inventory on the lot, and assist customers with check-in/out processes.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move equipment; keep lot organized.
• Maintain check in/out log with serial and tag numbers for inventory.
• Ensure proper fluid levels, attachments, and manuals are with equipment; verify safe loading before departure.
• Park equipment with leaks on concrete; catch fluids appropriately.
• Periodically inspect yard perimeter for safety issues.

Day in the Life: Equipment Yard Associate

• Loading, unloading and moving equipment and keeping it stored correctly and neatly on lot
• Keep check in/out log with serial numbers and tag numbers for accurate inventory records and daily forklift inspection logs
• Conduct check of equipment fluid levels, ensure proper attachments and manuals are with equipment, and ensure customers/contractors load and secure equipment correctly before it leaves the lot
• Park equipment with leaks on concrete and ensure fluids are properly caught
• Inspect yard/building perimeter periodically for repairs or safety issues

Need to Succeed:

• Good communication, customer service and excellent attendance
• Recent computer skills to learn systems for equipment check in/check out and record keeping
• Eye for safety, attention to detail, ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in the elements (all types of weather)
• Forklift certification with knowledge of equipment is a plus
