Job summary

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Production Asset Software & Controls Equipment Engineer for the Everett, WA location to support production equipment on the 737 program. This is a contract assignment through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the project.

The role involves hardware/software evaluation, integration of upgraded control systems, and collaboration across design, manufacturing, and metrology teams.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor degree in engineering or related field (ABET preferred).
• Minimum 3+ years of related engineering work experience.

Responsibilities

• Hardware and software evaluation and down select.
• Implement and validate upgraded hardware and software into automated control systems.
• Implement safety solutions to equipment.
• Analyze data to perform root cause analysis of systemic production issues.
• Develop, test, and evaluate software/hardware changes.
• Design, develop, and support equipment network technology and cybersecurity.
• Collaborate with Operations to develop data collection strategies.
• Develop design improvements of new production equipment to address obsolescence issues.
• Verifies equipment specifications meet requirements.
• Troubleshoots production issues related to quality, safety, and repeatability.
• Coordinates with affected parties to determine problems and implement solutions.
• Leads and manages projects involving acquisition or modification of production equipment.
• Develops and releases bid and purchase specifications for equipment from suppliers.
• Maintains and improves data collection systems tracking OEE, MTBF, MTTR, uptime.
