Job description

Arcosa Lightweight is searching for a Maintenance Technician for our Boulder, CO plant. As a Maintenance Technician, you will foster a positive safety culture while operating equipment, maintaining designated work areas, and assisting with plant projects within a 24/7 aggregate environment that is regulated by MSHA safety standards.

Arcosa Lightweight is a leading producer and distributor in the Western and Southwestern U.S. of lightweight and natural aggregates, including expanded shale and clay, crushed stone, sand and gravel, asphalt rock, and other products.

Compensation: $25.42-$27.00

  • What you will do:
  • Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment such as motors, conveyors, mechanical components or electrical wiring and electrical components for production equipment
  • Maintain contact with kiln operators and quality control to ensure material quality
  • Climb into and around mobile and plant equipment to make adjustments
  • Participate in general cleanup of the plant area, including but not limited to shoveling and sweeping
  • Follow all safety rules and practices
  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • What you will need:
  • Prompt, regular and predictable attendance
  • The ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders and catwalks up to 60 feet as required and lift weights up to 60 pounds
  • The ability to work in a varied outdoor environment (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
  • The ability to be trained in mobile and industrial plant equipment
  • The ability to read blueprints is a plus, but not required
  • Proficient skills in welding, cutting and torching

Shift:

Week 1: Mon – Thur, 7 am – 5 pm

Week 2: Tues – Fri, 7 am – 5 pm

Weekends as needed

Working Conditions and Physical Environment: While most equipment has air conditioning, there will be times when other responsibilities may require periods of work in all weather conditions including heat, cold, wet, dry, and dusty. Regularly sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing. Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Frequent use of hands and arms. Requires ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs. Occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, ascending, and descending stairs or ladders.
