Join to apply for the Equipment Service Technician role at STERIS.

As a Life Sciences Equipment Service Technician at STERIS, you will act as a trusted advisor to our Customers in the maintenance and procurement of Life Sciences products, including medical devices and consumables. You will provide on-site preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, equipment modification, and installation support on complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic units in a healthcare environment.

This is a remote-based, customer-facing position. Candidates must be based in one of the following states: Delaware, Maryland.

What you will do as an Equipment Service Technician:

• Drive Customer satisfaction through proactive communication and resolving issues expediently.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on STERIS products safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot, repair, modify, overhaul, or refurbish equipment and system components.
• Ensure a positive Customer experience by providing timely maintenance, service calls, warranty calls, and minor installations.
• Maintain communication with the Area Service Manager regarding activity and sales opportunities.
• Identify sales opportunities and promote STERIS products/services to customers, acting as a positive ambassador.
• Respond to routine questions about equipment operation and support the sales team when needed.

Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed

Required:

• High School diploma with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including outside normal business hours.
• Residence within 50 miles of the territory center.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push wheeled transporters up to 50 pounds.
• Compliance with hospital/customer credentialing requirements.

Preferred:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in electronics, mechanical, or related discipline with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of GMPs and GLPs.

Other:

• Excellent interpersonal and customer communication skills.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
