Job summary

Chewy is seeking a Safety Engineer, EHS – Engineering and Design to lead equipment safety design across the Chewy Fulfillment Network, including Rx. You will collaborate with Launch, Design, Construction, Engineering, Technology, M&R, and EHS teams to integrate safety requirements into new buildings and deployments.

Responsibilities include reviews of drawings and vendor submittals, conducting risk assessments, and applying ISO 12100, ANSI B11, and hierarchy-of-controls principles to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a mechanical/industrial engineering field or closely related discipline.
• 8+ years of safety engineering or related engineering experience in warehousing, fulfillment, distribution, or manufacturing environments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and design packages for complex systems.
• Knowledge of safety standards (OSHA/NFPA/ANSI/UL/CE) and certification requirements (UL/CE/NRTL).
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).

Responsibilities

• Serve as embedded safety engineering SME for new builds, equipment deployments, and modifications.
• Review drawings, vendor submittals, and design packages to identify hazards and recommend controls.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety design reviews using hierarchy of controls.
• Ensure safety requirements become part of facility layouts, docs, and testing protocols.
