Kiewit Corporation in Dillon, MT, invites you to join our Equipment team as an Equipment/Mechanical Engineer Intern. This hands-on internship provides real-world learning in construction management, planning, budgeting, and equipment reliability while supporting regional mining operations during May–August.

You will work under supervision to develop and implement preventative maintenance, manage parts inventory, and assist with long- and short-range equipment planning.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering-related degree.
• Willing to travel or relocate as needed.
• Availability to work May–August during summer internship.
• Commitment to safety, ethics, and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Understand and comply with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Material handling and procurement.
• Create and maintain tool/filter lists and documentation.
• Inspections of equipment and parts.
• Logistics management and communication.
• Long/short range equipment planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Planning and paperwork processing to prepare for critical lifts.
• Use reliability and failure analysis data to increase equipment availability and reliability.
• Establish and maintain communications between all levels of supervision and management.
• Support of craft maintenance technicians - ordering parts, manage inventory, schedule crews, and manage quality and safety.
• Specialty projects as needed.
