Job summary

Kiewit Equipment Services seeks an Equipment Engineer Intern to support regional construction and mining operations. You will help plan, schedule, budget, and improve utilization of a construction equipment fleet, focusing on reliability and preventative maintenance.

The internship runs May/June 2027, offering hands-on learning across the United States within a safety‑driven, dynamic environment and promising opportunities for growth at Kiewit.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel or relocate as needed.
• Availability to work full-time during the summer (May–August).
• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, MET, Diesel Technology, or Automotive Technology.
• Ability to access all points of a construction site in varying climates and environments.
• Demonstrated initiative, ethics, and safety‑oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Assist with material handling, procurement, and planning.
• Support equipment inspections, logistics, and documentation.
• Aid in long/short-range equipment planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Help implement preventative maintenance programs and improve equipment availability.
