Job summary

R&R Contracting Utilities is hiring certified heavy equipment operators for utility construction, site preparation, and infrastructure projects across the Mid-Atlantic.

Operators will handle excavators, backhoes, loaders and related equipment on active sites, performing trenching, grading, and backfill while coordinating with foremen and ground crews. OSHA compliance and safety plans are mandatory; year-round work is available across multiple states.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.
• Proficiency with excavators and backhoes; loader and dozer a plus.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Ability to read grade stakes and basic project plans.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Drug screening and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, backhoes, loaders, skid steers, and other heavy equipment on active jobsites
• Perform trenching, excavation, grading, and backfill operations for utility installation and repair
• Work closely with pipe layers, foremen, and ground crews to maintain production schedules
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
• Follow all OSHA safety protocols and site-specific safety plans
