Maryland Environmental Service has immediate openings for a full-time heavy equipment operator at the Cox Creek Dredged Material Containment Facility and the Cox Creek Sediment Technology and Reuse Facility. Positions range from EO Trainee to Lead EO, with opportunities to travel to different sites across northern Anne Arundel County and Baltimore City, Maryland.

Maryland Environmental Service has immediate openings for a full-time heavy equipment operator at the Cox Creek Dredged Material Containment Facility and the Cox Creek Sediment Technology and Reuse Facility. The projects are located in northern Anne Arundel County and Baltimore City, Maryland. This position may travel to other sites as needed. Positions available include EO Trainee (EOT), EO, Senior EO (SEO), and Lead EO (LEO). Primary responsibilities include operating off-road dump trucks, dozers, excavators, other heavy equipment, and dewatering pumps. Training will be provided as needed. This position may occasionally require evening and weekend work.
Position classification and salary offered will be based upon applicable experience
EO Trainee : $43,592.64 to $59,928.96
EO (Grade 3) $47,938.80 to $65,934.96
Senior EO: $52,743.60 - $72,530.64
Lead EO: $58,028.88 - $79,781.52

The EOT through LEO classifications all require graduation from a standard high school or GED, ability to pass a standard physical examination, ability to lift 50 pounds, and possession of a valid driver’s license with less than 5 points. EOT requires no additional experience. EO classification is required to have one (1) year applicable experience, SEO is required to have three (3) years applicable experience, and the LEO is required to have five (5) years applicable experience.
This position will be open until filled. This EO Trainee and EO positions are eligible for on-spot, contingent offers. Candidates who apply after an on-spot offer has been extended (including internal candidates) will not be considered unless the candidate who receives the on-spot, contingent offer does not complete the process to become an MES employee.
