Job summary

Comfort Systems USA Shoffner is seeking an Equipment Operator to support electrical construction projects. This role primarily operates skid steers, backhoes, and other heavy equipment while assisting crews with site preparation, excavation, and material handling.

You will perform excavation, trenching, grading, and backfilling, load and stage materials, and conduct equipment inspections. A valid driver’s license and reliability are required; electrical construction experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience operating skid steers, backhoes, excavators, or similar equipment.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Able to work effectively as part of a construction team.
• Able to follow jobsite plans, markings, and supervisor direction.
• Willing to assist field crews when equipment operation is not required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Electrical construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate skid steers, backhoes, mini excavators, and similar construction equipment.
• Perform excavation, trenching, grading, and backfilling activities.
• Load, unload, transport, and stage materials, tools, and equipment.
• Conduct equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
• Follow project plans, safety procedures, and supervisor direction.
• Assist electrical construction crews with general construction activities as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
