Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy is seeking a skilled heavy equipment operator for trenching and electrical infrastructure projects. The role focuses on operating excavators, trenchers, backhoes, and skid steers on on-site electrical installations.

Responsibilities include daily inspections, safety compliance, and supporting the electrical team with cable pulling, foundation setting, and site prep. A HS diploma and safety certifications are required, with drug screening and background checks mandatory.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience operating heavy civil/mechanical equipment in construction or industrial settings.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or schematics related to trenching and electrical installations.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, trenchers, backhoes, skid steers, and other heavy equipment for trenching, excavation, and backfilling for electrical conduit and cable installation.
• Perform daily pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance on equipment, reporting issues to supervisors.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company policies while operating equipment on a construction site.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and movement of materials and equipment on job sites.
• Support the electrical team with tasks such as pulling cable, setting foundations, and site prep.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other trades to ensure project efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
