Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking an Equipment Operator to operate PLC-controlled process equipment, monitor quality, and maintain safety. The role supports multiple production lines and requires adherence to GMPs and strong mechanical aptitude.

Typical schedule is Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm–11:00pm, with responsibilities including process flow, preventive maintenance, and reporting issues to supervision. 18+ years and a high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum one year experience in rendering facility or production environment preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical processes.
• Good mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting; skilled in general mechanics and safe operation of equipment.
• Basic math skills; ability to compute decimals and percentages.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good oral and written skills.
• Ability to deal with minor problems involving equipment or various situations.
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversees assigned area of process making sure to follow GMP's and maintain a clean area.
• Maintain steady flow of material through process.
• Control flow of material through process to finished goods storage.
• Monitor PLC panel to accomplish process.
• Perform periodic preventative maintenance for assigned equipment in process.
• Monitor machinery; bring all problems to attention of management.
• Assures equipment and work area is clean after each shift.
• Maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.
