Job summary

Sims Limited in Houston, TX is seeking an Equipment Operator - Light to assist unloading customers and loading trailers for scrap material transport. You will operate loaders, forklifts, and related equipment, inspect material and ensure safety on site.

Qualified candidates have 3–5 years of heavy equipment experience, a high school diploma or GED, pass pre-employment screening, and are able to read, understand English, and wear a respirator.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload customer’s trucks/vehicles.
• Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader.
• Performs routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
• Completes inspection report prior to using equipment.
• Responsible for customer & employee safety in and around work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

Operates material handler (grapple/magnet), front end loader, skid steer, or forklift to assist unloading customers and load trailers to prepare for transport of scrap materials. Inspects incoming material and grades accordingly.

Operates straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor type vehicle equipped with front mounted hydraulic powered bucket or forks to lift and transport bulk material to and from storage or processing areas by performing the following duties:
