Job summary

Sims Limited in Houston, TX is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to load/unload materials and move scrap using a loader, front-end loader, or forklift to prepare shipments. You will inspect incoming material and help maintain a clean, safe work area.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of heavy equipment experience, a high school diploma or GED, the ability to read and understand English, and must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Load and unload customer trucks/vehicles.
• Operate loader and forklift to move bulk material.

• Maintain general housekeeping and safety around work area.
• Ensure safety of customers and employees in and around site.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Operates material handler (grapple/magnet), front end loader, skid steer, or forklift to assist unloading customers and load trailers to prepare for transport of scrap materials. Inspects incoming material and grades accordingly.

Primary Responsibilities

Operates straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor type vehicle equipped with front mounted hydraulic powered bucket or forks to lift and transport bulk material to and from storage or processing areas by performing the following duties:

• Load and unload customer’s trucks/vehicles.
• Starts engine, shift gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader.
• Performs routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
• Completes inspection report prior to using equipment.
• Perform & maintain general housekeeping.
• Responsible for customer & employee safety in and around work area.
• Other duties as assigned.
