Job summary

Arcwood Environmental in Abingdon, VA seeks an Equipment Operator to support our MRF location. You will unload waste from incoming trucks, operate an end loader to move waste to the blending box, and use an excavator to transfer waste to belt floor trailers and roll-off boxes.

You will inspect equipment and mentor less-experienced operators to maintain safe operations. We require a high school diploma and at least 1 year of heavy equipment experience.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• High-school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Unloads waste from incoming trucks and operates an end loader to move waste to blending box.
• Operates an excavator to transfer solidified waste from blending box to belt floor trailer and roll off boxes.
• Performs general inspections and ensures equipment is in good working condition.
• Provides guidance to less experienced equipment operators as needed.
• Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.
• Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies and maintaining safe practices at all times.
