Job summary

UNS Electric is seeking qualified personnel to learn and perform duties related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance in a DOT-compliant manner.

Responsibilities include loading, unloading, driving vehicles over 44,000 lbs, pole digging and equipment operation, with focus on safety and environmental considerations. Starting pay is $31.61/hr, and compliance with company procedures is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have CDL.

Responsibilities

• Familiar with safety manual, traffic control procedures, construction standards and timekeeping procedures.
• Inspect and maintain equipment to stay DOT compliant.
• Know loading and unloading procedures and securing loads.
• Operate and drive equipment up to and including heavy vehicles (>44,000 lbs).
• Perform duties such as pole hauling, pole-hole digging, and operation of boom truck and related equipment.
• Load, haul, and transport equipment and materials.
• Provide services to affiliates per UNS Energy policies.

Position Description

This job classification shall possess the ability to learn the required duties necessary to use all tools and equipment relative to the work group and to obtain and maintain the necessary CDL license to perform all of the duties of this classification.

Position Related Responsibilities

• Familiar with the Company's Safety Manual, Traffic Control Procedures, Construction Standards, accounting and time keeping procedures, rigging procedures, heavy lifting procedures, and other procedures and applicable rules and regulations.
• Inspect and maintain equipment as required by UES and to remain DOT complaint.
• Have knowledge of proper loading and uploading procedures and unloading of equipment and securing.
• Operate and drive equipment up to and including vehicles with more than 44,000 lbs/GVR
• Specific examples of duties will include, but not limited to:
• Pole hauling and removal
• Pole-Hole digging
• Operation of boom truck, underground and overhead stringing and pulling equipment, Vac-machine, back property derrick and includes the safe operation of excavation equipment, etc.
• Loading, hauling and transporting of equipment and materials
• Other tasks and assignments as directed

• This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.
