Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking an Equipment Operator 3 for the Administration and Planning | FOD Operations Sustainability team. The role entails collecting solid waste and recyclables on campus using trucks, tractors, and other equipment, operating front- and rear-load trash trucks, and guiding a team as needed.

Qualifications include 7th grade plus 600 hours training or six months of heavy equipment experience and a valid Ohio Class B CDL.

Qualifications

• Required: 7th grade plus 600 hours training or six months of experience in operation and maintenance of heavy equipment; valid Ohio Class B CDL.
• Strongly Desired: two to four years of commercial front load truck operation experience; logging hours and route data on tablets.

Responsibilities

• Collect solid waste and recyclables on campus using trucks, tractors, back-hoes, and other equipment.
• Operate front and rear load trash trucks, skid steer, and dump truck to remove solid waste and recyclables.
• May supervise student staff or temporary workers; may lead in supervisor's absence; may assist with events.
