Job summary

Unknown company is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator II to operate solid waste tractor/trailer equipment and perform routine maintenance. You will drive highway tractors with tipper-trailers from transfer stations to landfills, handling paperwork and maintenance logs as required.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, plus two years of equipment operation experience, and a valid Ohio CDL with endorsements. A DOT physical is required, and licensure must be maintained.

Job description

Full performance level in the equipment operation occupation requiring considerable knowledge of multi-unit vehicles and waste disposal equipment; under direction, operates vehicles such as solid waste tractor/tipper-trailer.

Drives a highway tractor with tipper-trailer from transfer station to landfill or other destination; transports with tractor/dump-trailer.

Performs minor repairs and adjustments to equipment; checks and services (i.e., preventative maintenance) equipment; greases and oils machinery; complete check-off list for equipment conditional completes maintenance records.

May serve as a backup to Equipment Operator I if needed and qualified.

Equivalent to a high school diploma and two (2) years of equipment operation of listed above; OR alternative, equivalent evidence of the minimum class requirements.

Driving Requirement

Must maintain a current, valid, State of Ohio Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements, and an acceptable driving record.

Training and Development

Must pass Department of Transportation physical exam. Must maintain licensure.
