Job summary

Jackson County in Missouri is seeking a Maintenance Worker to operate specialized maintenance equipment and handheld tools, performing asset and infrastructure improvements as needed.

You will cut brush and trees from county infrastructure and participate in ice and snow control operations. A high school diploma or GED is required, plus 1–3 years' related experience. A Class B CDL with air brake endorsement must be obtained within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years in a related field; training provided.
• Class B CDL with air brake endorsement within 6 months.
• Heavy lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Background and drug screen required.

Job Duties

• Responsible for operating specialized maintenance equipment and is proficient in use of handheld equipment, hand tools, and other power equipment; performs asset and infrastructure improvements and manual labor as necessary
• Cuts brush and trees from county infrastructure
• Participates in ice and snow control operations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an industry related position or craft. Must complete Division specific training as directed.
• Must obtain a Class B commercial driver's license with air brake endorsement within six (6) months of hire
• Heavy lifting is required, sometimes in excess of 50 pounds.
• Must submit to/pass pre-employment background/drug screen.
