Job summary

Jackson County Missouri is looking for dedicated individuals to operate specialized maintenance equipment within the Public Works Department. Responsibilities include performing infrastructure improvements, participating in emergency operations, and snow control. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and relevant experience, along with a Class B driver’s license within six months.

• Must complete Division specific training as directed.
• Must obtain a Class B commercial driver’s license within six months.

Department: Public Works Grade: 150 Salary: $19.93/hour

Job Duties

• Responsible for operating specialized maintenance equipment and is proficient in use of handheld equipment, hand tools, and other power equipment
• Performs asset and infrastructure improvements and manual labor as necessary
• Participates in ice and snow control operations
• Delivers or removes materials and or equipment to and from field stations or job sites
• Participates in emergency operations as directed

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Two years of experience in an industry related position or craft
• Must complete Division specific training as directed
• Must obtain a Class B commercial driver’s license with air brake endorsement within six months of hire
• Must submit to/pass pre-employment drug test/background screen
• Additional qualification dependent on department needs
