Job summary

City of Midland, Texas is seeking an Equipment Operator II to operate a range of heavy and medium street maintenance equipment and perform routine maintenance on equipment. The role requires working with city assets, following safety procedures, and performing pre-trip inspections.

Most work is performed on city streets and drainage projects. Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED, 3 years of related experience, and a Class B CDL (tank endorsement preferred or obtainable

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years related experience required.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Operate and train on heavy equipment including listed units.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair of city streets and alleys.
• Perform daily pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintain daily worksheets.
• Maintain safe operation of heavy equipment and ensure safety equipment is used daily.
• Assist with setup of work zone traffic control and loading/unloading materials.
