Montana State University - Office of Student Engagement seeks an Equipment Operator II to support the Grounds/Waste team. The role focuses on waste, recycling, and snow removal, performing varied duties in a collaborative environment.
The successful candidate will operate a range of waste and grounds equipment, assist with street and sidewalk maintenance, and ensure safety in outdoor work areas. CDL Class B and prior grounds/waste experience are required.

Under the general supervision of the Landscape and Grounds Manager, the individual in this position will operate a wide variety of specialized waste, grounds maintenance and snow removal equipment.
The work schedule varies seasonally and is highly weather dependent. The department utilizes split shifts to ensure winter snow coverage- typical available shifts are Monday- Friday 5:30 AM- 2:00PM or 8:30AM – 5:00PM. The person in this position may be called in for work at any time, particularly during the snow season. Weekend and holiday work may be required.
The final candidate selected for this position will be required to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test. Upon providing proof of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) the person in this position will be enrolled in the random drug and alcohol testing program.
The final candidate selected for this position will be required to successfully pass a background check.
