Job summary

Butterball is seeking a production machine operator to set up and operate equipment safely, accurately, and on time in the assigned department. You will monitor line performance and coordinate with supervision to meet production standards.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to pass background checks and drug screening, and willingness to work extended hours in a noisy food processing environment. Knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out and GMPs is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must pass a background check, drug screen and pre-employment physical.
• Must be able to use basic math and typing skills.
• Ability to pass Lock Out – Tag Out training.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that production standards are met by efficiently running the machines and equipment.
• Set up, operate, maintain equipment and tear down as instructed.
• Run product at line speed as scheduled by Production Supervisor.
• Maintain ongoing communication with Production Supervision, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance as it relates to equipment performance and down time.
• Follow safety procedures and checklist for startup, emergency stop, and restart of the lines after down time.
• Follows all work safety policies and guidelines, such as Lock Out – Tag Out.
• Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and /or safety issues/concerns.
• Adheres to all USDA and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) product standards and guidelines.
• Maintains a clean and organized area.
• Cross train on other equipment/areas as needed.
• Maintain equipment records through paper logs or on assigned electronic device accurately and timely.
