Job summary

Butterball in Mount Olive, NC is seeking an Equipment Operator 1 for the Second Process on the evening shift. You will set up and operate machines, ensure safety, and meet production targets in a fast-paced meat processing plant.

You must be at least 18, have a high school diploma or GED, pass background/drug screens, and be able to work extended hours including weekends. Butterball offers opportunities to grow professionally in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Must be 18+ and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and pre-employment physical.
• Must be able to use basic math and typing skills.
• Ability to learn and operate all equipment in the department.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure production standards by efficiently running the machines and equipment
• Set up, operate, maintain equipment and tear down as instructed
• Run product at line speed as scheduled by Production Supervisor
• Maintain ongoing communication with Production Supervision, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance as it relates to equipment performance and downtime
• Follow safety procedures and checklist for startup, emergency stop, and restart of the lines after downtime
• Follows all work safety policies and guidelines, such as Lock Out – Tag Out
• Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns
• Adheres to all USDA and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) product standards and guidelines
• Maintains a clean and organized area
• Cross train on other equipment/areas as needed
• Maintain equipment records through paper logs or on assigned electronic device accurately and timely
• Other duties as assigned
