Job description

Public Works Equipment Operator I - City of Saint Cloud

The Public Works Equipment Operator I at the City of Saint Cloud performs a wide range of semi-skilled and skilled tasks, including heavy manual labor and equipment operations, to maintain, repair, and assist in the construction of municipal streets, alleys, facilities, right-of-way areas, and other city infrastructure. This position is also responsible for the collection and disposal of municipal solid waste, recycling, yard waste, and working at the compost site.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain, repair, and perform construction-related activities of city infrastructure.
2. Operate a variety of heavy and light-duty equipment for repair and construction activities.
3. Perform heavy manual labor related to the collection and disposal of solid waste, recyclables, and related materials, including loading into collection vehicles.
4. Perform patching, crack repair, pothole filling, concrete work, overlays, and spray patching.
5. Plow snow, de-ice, haul snow, shovel, snow blow, and apply deicing and anti-icing products.
