Public Works Equipment Operator I - City of Saint Cloud

The Public Works Equipment Operator I at the City of Saint Cloud performs a wide range of semi-skilled and skilled tasks, including heavy manual labor and equipment operations, to maintain, repair, and assist in the construction of municipal streets, alleys, facilities, right-of-way areas, and other city infrastructure. This position is also responsible for the collection and disposal of municipal solid waste, recycling, and yard waste, as well as working at the compost site.

Examples of duties and responsibilities include:

1. Maintains, repairs, and performs construction-related activities of city infrastructure.
2. Operates a wide variety of heavy and light-duty equipment, and participates in repair and construction activities.
3. Performs regular heavy manual labor related to the collection and disposal of solid waste, recyclables, and related materials, including loading into collection vehicles.
4. Performs patching, crack repair, pothole filling, concrete work, overlays, and spray patching.
5. Plows snow, de-ices, hauls snow, shovels, uses snow blowers, and applies deicing and anti-icing products.
