Job summary

LOGISTEC is seeking an Equipment Operator III to safely operate heavy maritime equipment such as cranes, excavators, front‑end loaders, and forklifts in a fast-paced terminal environment. You will load, unload, and transport bulk materials including sulfur and aggregates while upholding safety standards.

We value teamwork and hands-on contributors who can perform routine inspections, document operations, and assist with training new operators.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in maritime or bulk terminal operations.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate cranes, excavators, front-end loaders, and forklifts for bulk handling.

• Identify equipment issues and perform basic troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

What your day looks like as Equipment Operator:

• Safely operate a variety of heavy maritime equipment, including cranes, excavators, front-end loaders, and other machinery used in bulk cargo handling operations.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Load, unload, and transfer bulk materials between vessels, trucks, and rail while maintaining efficiency and proper cargo handling procedures.
• Work closely with terminal teams to support smooth cargo flow, maximize productivity, and minimize operational delays.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and terminal procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of equipment usage, cargo movements, and operational activities.
• Identify equipment issues and perform basic troubleshooting or minor repairs as needed.
• Support the training and development of new operators by sharing knowledge of equipment operation and safety practices.

Qualifications

To succeed as Equipment Operator you must have:

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or training preferred.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC card required
• Proven experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in a maritime or bulk terminal environment.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to maritime operations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be flexible to work day, nights and/or weekends as needed

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and on elevated platforms.
