JOB DESCRIPTION
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. The purpose of this position is to perform semi-skilled work functions to operate motorized light to medium weight equipment to maintain and repair City grounds, sewers, stormwater conveyance systems, streets, and to provide solid waste collection services.
High school diploma or equivalent; no experience required but some equipment operation experience is preferred.
Valid driver’s license required.
The work is heavy; involves moving objects up to 20 pounds constantly, 30 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Also requires balancing, crouching, grasping, handling, hearing, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, speaking, stooping, visual acuity, and walking.
Work is outdoors, often in adverse conditions such as dirt, dust, rain, fumes, noise, machinery, traffic, or toxic agents. Work involves heavy equipment and machinery that could cause injury.
