Trident Technical College seeks a Grounds Maintenance Technician responsible for ensuring the safety and aesthetics of outdoor spaces. The position requires relevant experience, a valid SC Driver's License, and a preference for candidates with a degree in horticulture. The successful applicant will perform tasks such as landscape maintenance and operate necessary equipment, while also exhibiting excellent customer service skills.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for maintaining grounds, including roadways, sidewalks, and parking surfaces, ensuring they are safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. This involves performing all aspects of landscape maintenance and installation, pond maintenance, and operating and performing preventative maintenance on all equipment used for these tasks.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
This position requires formal or trades experience directly related to the area of employment. A valid SC Driver's License is also required.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferably, candidates will have a degree in horticulture or equivalent education/experience. Must be able to obtain a South Carolina pesticide license. Candidates should have the ability to perform all aspects of landscape and irrigation maintenance and installation, and operate all large and small landscape maintenance equipment. Excellent customer service skills are essential.
