Your Opportunity:

Taylor Print Impressions, a division of Taylor Corporation, is seeking an Equipment Operator (Folder Operator) responsible for performing all stitching and folding tasks involved in the production of our products. This includes setup, operation, and tear down of stitching and folding equipment.

Your Shift:
  • 1st Shift; Monday - Friday, 6am - 2:30pm
Your Responsibilities:
  • Set up stitching equipment to collate and stitch signatures into books and brochures
  • Set up folding equipment to automatically fold, slit, and/or score printed sheets into signatures for binding
  • Read job ticket to ensure equipment is set up according to specifications and all required work is performed on each job
  • Stitch, fold, or otherwise finish the product according to job ticket instructions
  • Adjust equipment during production run, as required
  • Read and interpret information from the bindery paperwork; planning sheets, layouts, dylux, and job ticket
  • Complete tasks as directed by production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products to customers
  • Utilize instructions and pre-established process and quality guidelines to perform the job functions
  • Examine finished products for quality assurance
  • Report defective materials or questionable quality issues to the Supervisor or Lead
  • Operate other bindery equipment, if necessary, to maintain flexibility of the department
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines to reduce problems and maintain quality
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment following safety rules and regulations
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) or work-related experience
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Basic bindery knowledge and skills to operate bindery equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, follow directions, perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Use basic hand-held tools necessary for production and packaging
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Previous experience operating saddle stitcher
