Summary of Duties: The Demolition Operator is responsible for executing safe and efficient demolition operations in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures. This position involves the use of specialized equipment and techniques to dismantle and remove structures and/or materials to facilitate new construction or site redevelopment.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment to perform controlled and precise demolition tasks.
2. Assess the demolition site, remove hazards, and implement safety measures to protect workers and the environment.
3. Review demolition plans and blueprints to execute the process effectively and adhere to project timelines.
4. Safely dismantle structures and remove materials, salvaging reusable or recyclable items when applicable.
5. Follow safety protocols, including PPE use and compliance with regulations related to demolition activities.
6. Organize and dispose of debris, ensuring proper waste management and environmental compliance.
7. Coordinate efforts with team members, project managers, and contractors to maintain a safe work environment.
8. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of demolition equipment.
9. Address and troubleshoot issues during demolition activities, taking corrective actions as needed.
10. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of equipment.
11. Willingness and ability to work in a respirator if needed and to travel to various job sites.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

1. 4-5 years of heavy equipment operator experience.
2. 2-3 years of demolition experience.
3. Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
4. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (U.S., Permanent Alien status, or other authorization).

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Physical Demands: The employee must frequently stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally sit. Regularly handle objects, reach, balance, and use tools. Lift up to 25 pounds frequently, 50 pounds regularly, and 100 pounds occasionally. Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment: Exposure to fumes, odors, temperature fluctuations, humidity, vibration, and moderate noise levels. Work may be outdoors or indoors.
