Job summary

The State of West Virginia seeks a Transportation Worker 2 to operate highway maintenance equipment and perform skilled work on highways, bridges, and related structures. The role reports to the Pocahontas County Headquarters and requires a Class A or B CDL.

Duties include driving dump/flatbed trucks, performing minor repairs, installing signs, finishing concrete, and supporting state facilities maintenance. A U.S.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• A valid Class A or B CDL is required.
• Experience operating highway maintenance equipment and performing skilled work.

Responsibilities

• Operate highway maintenance equipment such as skid steer, bucket truck, loader, and trucks.
• Perform repairs on highways, culverts, bridges, and pavement surfaces.
• Install and remove signposts and erect traffic signs and barricades.
• Finish concrete, build forms, and perform related building trades work.
• Transport fuel to equipment and perform routine lubrication and maintenance.
