Job summary

State-of-West-Virgini is seeking an entry-level Transportation Worker 1 - Equipment Operator to assist with highway and bridge construction and maintenance across West Virginia. The role uses light maintenance equipment and performs basic carpentry and form-building tasks as part of a crew.

Must obtain CDL within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

Operate a light truck or vehicle.
Operate a fork truck to load and unload trucks.
May operate End loader, Skid Steer, Rollers, Utility Tractor, and Brush Chipper.
Control brush and vegetation using hand tools and other equipment.
Plow snow using a light truck.
Perform minor maintenance on fleet of equipment and vehicles.
Transport fuel to equipment.
Answer telephone and radio calls during snow removal and ice control.
Flags traffic at construction sites.
Travel may be required; therefore, a valid driver’s license is required.
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) will be required within six (6) months of employment.
