Job summary

State of West Virginia is seeking an entry-level Transportation Worker 1 - Equipment Operator to perform apprentice level, unskilled to semi-skilled work in highway construction and maintenance. You will operate light maintenance equipment, perform rough carpentry, and support snow plowing as needed.

A CDL is required within six months of employment, and advancement depends on hours, training, and CDL attainment.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• Entry level; no prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a light truck or vehicle.
• Operate a forklift to load/unload.
• May operate end loader, skid steer, rollers, utility tractor, and brush chipper.
• Control brush and vegetation using hand tools.
