Description

The Equipment Operator/Truck Driver safely operates and maintains trucks and equipment used in the upkeep of Williams County roads.

Examples of Duties

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents in this position. The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and may change with or without notice. Incumbents must be able to perform the essential function of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Operates a variety of trucks and equipment including, but not limited to, loaders, skid steer, mini excavator, and self-propelled packer.
  • Transports materials, vehicles, and equipment to and from site.
  • Repairs and maintains surfaces through activities such as patching asphalt and sealing cracks in pavement.
  • Performs routine inspection and maintenance on trucks and equipment; reports mechanical problems requiring additional repair.
  • Performs manual labor activities, including snow and debris removal, snow fence maintenance, foliage maintenance, and others as assigned.
  • Adheres to safety rules and regulations on all work sites, reports safety hazards and traffic problems.
  • Acts in the interest of public safety and personal property protection during emergencies.
  • Maintains confidentiality of non-public records and makes available all data and information deemed a public record by the North Dakota Century Code.
Typical Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent AND one (1) year of related work experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver License.
  • Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
Special Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in an outdoor environment with exposure to extreme temperatures and inclement weather.
  • Work is performed in and around mechanical, industrial, and electrical equipment.
  • Occasional emergency on-call work is required.
Compensation

Starting Salary ranges from $37.08-$39.30/hour based on experience and training.
