Position Overview

The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to load, offload, or transport landscape supplies such as mulch, topsoil, soil amendments, and raw materials. The role requires maintaining safety awareness and proficiency to minimize risks of injury or property damage.

What You’ll Do

1. Operate equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steers, track loaders, articulating loaders, rubber tire wheel loaders, and excavators safely and proficiently according to company policies.
2. Clean and maintain equipment regularly.
3. Report equipment needs for maintenance or repairs to branch leadership.
4. Assist with other tasks like receiving materials, inventory management, order fulfillment, and general labor as assigned.

Skills We Are Seeking

1. Experience with operating heavy equipment preferred.
2. Knowledge of safety and maintenance protocols for relevant equipment.
3. Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.
4. Capable of working in extreme weather conditions.
5. Experience in landscaping, hardscaping, forestry, nursery, or irrigation industries is a plus.
6. Ability to read and write for recording logs and checklists.
7. High school diploma or equivalent required.
