Position Summary
Operate and maintain striping equipment and other miscellaneous equipment, perform general labor involved in striping operations. This position primarily works outside and is regularly exposed to weather conditions. Ability to travel within Nebraska and work at job sites for 1 to 2 weeks at a time.Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Consistent and reliable attendance is required. This position's starting wage is $22.00/hr.

Essential Duties & Responsibilitiesinclude, but are not limited to, the following:

Safely load and unload Traffic Control Equipment according to department standards

Place traffic control devices correctly to assure traffic moves through construction and maintenance zones safely, duties may vary according to job assignment.

Perform maintenance on Traffic Control equipment and inform management of any safety concerns or problems.

Perform temporary and permanent striping per Traffic control plan.

Read, understand, and follow Traffic Control plan, maps and records to assure that the Traffic Control equipment are in the proper positions on the project.

Operate company equipment, such as bobcat and skidloader, and other vehicles.

Work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service.

Frequently lift/move sandbags and other materials weighing between 25-75 pounds

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and
  • Previous experience in traffic control or related field, or
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to get CDL within 6 months of employment.
  • Must have good driving record to meet insurability requirements to drive company vehicles

Skills and Abilities:

  • Previous experience operating a bobcat and other construction equipment is helpful, but not required.
  • Previously demonstrated leadership skills to assist in project coordination, support and direction.
  • Knowledge of safe and efficient operation of hand and power tools—shovels, handheld power tools.
