Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. is seeking a motivated individual to join our Missouri Grading Team. Based out of Savannah, MO, the role involves operating large equipment such as a 374 Cat Excavator or D8 Cat bulldozer to remove overburden in various quarries across Missouri.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid US driver's license, and 1+ years of related experience. Will travel locally; expects full-time, 40+ hours per week.

Job description

Hours: Monday - Friday 6am-6pm

Pay: 26 an hour

Martin Mariettais currently looking for a motivated individual to join ourMissouri Grading Team. This position will have the opportunity to operate large equipment like the 374 Cat Excavator or D8 Cat bulldozer removing overburden in different quarries around Missouri. This position will be based out of Savannah, MO but will travel around the local area to move dirt and shale in the mining process.

Essential Functions

• Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
• Work in a team environment
• Clean work areas
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Proper wear of personal protective equipment
• Notify supervisors of repairs needed
• Ensure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirements
• Assist in plant maintenance and repairs
• Perform duties with minimum supervision

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position and will require 40+ hours per week.

Preferred Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Bulldozers and excavator experience
• 1 + years related experience
• Valid US driver's license

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations
• Effective verbal communication
• Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance

Physical Abilities

• Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
• General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching with hands and arms, and handling materials
