Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a motivated individual to operate large equipment and support mining operations in Leavenworth, Onaga and nearby areas. The role involves moving dirt and shale, working at sites around Kansas, with travel to Onaga, St. Mary’s, and Soldier Kansas required.

Based in Leavenworth, KS, the position requires 40+ hours weekly, a valid driver’s license, and bulldozer/excavator experience. You will work with minimal supervision and follow MSHA rules in a dynamic team setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have a valid US driver’s license.
• Bulldozers and excavator experience preferred.
• 1+ years related experience required.
• Valid US driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety programs and training.
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear.
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment.
• Work in a team environment.
• Clean work areas.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
• Ensure proper wear of personal protective equipment.
• Notify supervisors of repairs needed.
• Ensure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirements.
• Assist in plant maintenance and repairs.
• Perform duties with minimum supervision.

Job description

Martin Mariettais currently looking for a motivated individual to join ourOnaga/Leavenworth team. This position will have the opportunity to operate large equipment like the 374 Cat Excavator or D8 Cat bull dozer removing overburden in different quarries around Kansas. This position will be based out of Leavenworth, KS but will travel around to locations near Onaga, St. Mary’s, and Soldier Kansas to move dirt and shale in the mining process.

Essential Functions

• Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
• Work in a team environment

• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions

• General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching with hands and arms, and handling materials
