Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in Orlando, FL is seeking a motivated Yard/Production associate to operate production equipment and move materials in the yard. You will identify materials, load/unload, and support safety programs while supporting customers and visitors with accurate service.

Key requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, teamwork, and prior experience in recycling or manufacturing. CMC provides training, benefits from day one, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience in recycling/manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Familiarity with material handling equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates production equipment in accordance with procedures.
• Assess weight of material orders and issue supplies to visitors and customers.
• Identify carriers for scrap outbound pickups.
• Self-manage tracking and flow of incoming shipments.
• Operate equipment on the yard to move material as needed.
• Uphold CMC safety programs and culture.
• Maintain clean, orderly work area and follow safety regulations.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

What You'll Do

• Operates production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
• Assesses by grade accurate weight of material orders and issues supplies for visitors and customers entering the yard
• Upon pick up of scrap outbound: ID theproper carrier to pick up correct materials/containers
• Self-manage accurate tracking, self-regulate flow of incoming shipment
• Operate different pieces of equipment on the yard to assist in moving material as needed
• Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture
• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety regulations
• Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor

What You'll Need

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Able to work as a team player in a fast‑paced environment, with strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Minimum 1 year experience in either recycling and/or manufacturing environment preferred
• Previous experience operating forklift, skid steer, loader or similar equipment
• Prior knowledge of metal identification is a plus

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
