Job summary

CMC is seeking personnel to operate production equipment and manage material orders in our yard. You will identify carriers for scrap pickups and ensure correct materials, while tracking shipments and moving materials with yard equipment. A strong safety mindset and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum 1 year in recycling/manufacturing is preferred; forklift/skid steer/ loader experience is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in recycling and/or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Prior experience operating forklift, skid steer, loader or similar equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operates production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Assesses by grade accurate weight of material orders and issues supplies for visitors and customers entering the yard.
• Identify the proper carrier for scrap outbound pickups and ensure correct materials/containers.
• Self-manage accurate tracking and flow of incoming shipments.
• Operate different yard equipment to move material as needed.
• Participate in safety programs and uphold the safety culture.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and follow safety regulations.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

What You'll Do

• Operates production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines

• Upon pick up of scrap outbound: ID theproper carrier to pick up correct materials/containers
• Self-manage accurate tracking, self-regulate flow of incoming shipment
• Operate different pieces of equipment on the yard to assist in moving material as needed
• Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture
• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety regulations
• Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor

What You'll Need

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Able to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Minimum 1 year experience in either recycling and/or manufacturing environment preferred
• Previous experience operating forklift, skid steer, loader or similar equipment
• Prior knowledge of metal identification is a plus

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
